Meet Our Student Teachers!

We are priveleged to have two new student teachers in 4th grade! Miss Melissa Lucas, who is mentored by Ms. Anthony, and Mrs. Valerie Bates, who is mentored by Mrs. Peden, have both joined us from UTD. They will be assisting in the classroom and co-teaching as they prepare for their careers in education. Each student teacher will be with us through April 15th. Please feel free to come by and introduce yourselves during our conference period, before or after school. They'd love to meet our FABULOUS parents!

We love your kids...

Becoming an educator is a decision most of us make because we have a passion for learning and a tender place in our hearts for children. Watching them learn and grow is what drives our desire to help them find success in their education. As teachers at RBE, your 4th grade team is dedicated to providing a safe and loving environment in which your children are driven to take risks, stretch their imaginations, and find success in all aspects of their young lives. We work tirelessly to provide structure, support, encouragement, understanding, stability, and compassion in our classrooms. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have regarding your child's success!

College Week!

Each year, our staff and students enjoy COLLEGE WEEK! The music listening selections in the morning spread friendly rivalry throughout our school on the intercom as fight songs ring through the hallways! Tall and short fans alike, sport Texas colors of burnt orange and white, as well as maroon and gray. Other college colors intermingle themselves, as a slide show presentation runs in the cafeteria...diplaying teacher's pictures and alma-maters. Below are a couple of pictures from this year's College Week at RBE!

Reading ROCKS!

Our 4th graders are passionate about reading! They engage in regular book clubs, have meaningful connections through group discussions, and complete a weekly guided reading home study that collaborates with small group instruction in our classrooms. Parents also work hand-in-hand with our students, encouraging them to read aloud every day as part of the S.H.A.R.E. program (Students Having A Read-aloud Experience).

Scientific Minds at Work

Our students participate in continuous hands-on learning, to extend their understanding and engage them in their lessons. Meaningful connections give purpose to a concept and help children remember what they have been taught. Below are some pictures that were taken during the study of MIXTURES and SOLUTIONS, PHYSICAL PROPERTIES, and ELECTRIC CIRCUITS. These are some of the content areas that 4th grade covers in our state and district curriculum.

MATH MANIA

Students in 4th grade at RBE LOVE Math! Why? Because their teachers make learning fun! Take a look at some serious number crunching going on in our classrooms...

Book Character Parade 2010

Each year, our librarian organizes a campus wide Book Character Parade, in which all students and faculty members participate. We choose our favorite characters from books we enjoy reading, and dress the part. Enjoy these pictures and see if you can guess the student's costumes for the characters and books they represented!
